The Pillar of Character for May Citizenship

The pillar of character this month is Citizenship.  the components of being a good Citizen are "try to do our share to make your school and community better", "Cooperate", "Stay informed; vote", "Be a good neighbor","Obey law and rules", "Respect authority", "Protect the environment".

We talk to our children about this pobic every May and it fits in with our Memorial Day celebrations at the end of the month as we show respect for all that have served to protect us and as we honor the American flag.

We teach our children to respect authority when the children use their manners and talk to people of all ages with respect.  We model this for them in our dealings with people in the community.  We put on our seat belts and drive with care as we model that we obey the law.  The children follow rules in their classrooms and they them in the making of rules that you have in your home.

Take the time if you see trash around your neighborhood to pick it upand put it in the garbage can so we can keep our neighborhoods clean.

Together we make a GREAT TEAM as we strive to teach Good Citizenship in our homes and at school.
